Andy King fires Leicester City to victory over Sheffield United

​Andy King’s fourth-minute goal was enough to earn Leicester City a Championship victory at Sheffield United.

King produced a sublime finish to lob the ball over Blades goalkeeper Steve Simonsen.

City were not  at their best and had to soak up considerable pressure from the home side.

However, they hung to claim three points.

Basketball: All Star clash lined up

Gateway College is set to stage the first women’s All Star basketball match on Sunday, March 27.

It will feature the top players from this season’s Leicestershire Women’s League and National League teams.

The game, promoted by City of Leicester Lady Hoops and supported by the Leicestershire Basketball Association, will showcase the best female players with a side representing the city taking on one from the county.

The county team will be coached by basketball legend Mandy Pollard with players being selected from Leicester Cannons, Tile Hill Trojans, Loughborough University and Coalville Lady Cougars.

The city team will be coached by Hazel Shaw with players from Leicester University, City of Leicester Lady Hoops, Gateway Giants and Moat Flame.

The teams will be selected this month as they are chosen by their peers on a match-by-match basis.

The players with the most votes will play in the game alongside two representatives from each of the city’s two National League teams.
